The Arms of Tevra are two large mountain chains that divide the continent into its three large regions, Sovdu [region?] to the west, Qareya to the east, and the high plateau in between them. The mountains of the Arms dominate both the terrain and the climate of Tevra: heavy rains, blown from the sea, fall on their western flank and water Sovdu and its thick forests, as well as packing their heights with snow; the high plateau and Qareya beyond are both dry, arid territories, watered largely by the melt from mountain snows and by springs welling from deep held water below the deserts.
