The Sunken Sea (Taragat: Men theret) is a sea in central Ijeida connected to the Outer Ocean to the west and the smaller Inward Sea to the southeast, and surrounded by the Agata region. It is so called because it's northern and southern shores are dominated by kilometer-high cliffs, giving rise to the ancient belief and popular image that a former, much higher sea sank to its present level below these imposing cliffs.

Geography Edit

The Sunken Sea is surrounded for about two-thirds of its extent by the high cliffs known together as the Seawall, existing in two long stretches along the northern and southern shores. The eastern shore of the sea is bounded by rocky harbors that rise quickly to high hills and the mountains of the eastern portion of the continent.
